Thursday, November 10 (19:00–22:00) Symposium dinner Pátio da Galé
The Pátio da Galé, which opened in 2011, is located in the west wing of the Terreiro do Paço (The Palace Square), where the Royal Palace and the Casa da India stood before the earthquake of 1755 struck. This amazing venue benefits from a perfect historical environment in the heart of the city.
Pátio da Galé is located in the very heart of Lisbon at the Square "Praça do Comércio" also called "Terreiro do Paço". The square has beautiful eighteenth century symmetrical buildings and arcades, with the south side facing the River Tejo and the northeast corner occupied by "Martinho da Arcada", the oldest café-restaurant in Lisbon, established in 1782. A few meters away, the arch known as Arco da Rua Augusta marks the beginning of the Baixa’s main shopping street. On the western side is also the Lisboa Welcome Center, the city’s main tourist office.
Getting there:
By metro: use
BLUE LINE
to the "Terreiro do Paço" station or green line to the "Baixa-Chiado" station; the blue line takes you directly from the Gulbenkian ("Praça de Espanha" station) to Pátio da Galé ("Terreiro do Paço" station). Diagram of the Lisbon subway including blue line attached.
A cheaper option is to gather in a set of 3 to 4 people and take Uber or Bolt or similar service from the Gulbenkian to Pátio da Galé for approximately 5-6€ per ride.
