What is SmartNet?

SmartNet was among the first batch of programmes endorsed by the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (Ocean Decade, 2021-2030) launched in 2021. Led by two intergovernmental organizations in the North Atlantic and North Pacific, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) and the North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES), SmartNet will establish a global knowledge network for ocean science by strengthening and expanding the collaboration of ICES/PICES and partner organisations worldwide.
